Welcome to the Nelms Lab!
Achieving food security in the face of climate change and a growing global population is a seminal challenge of the 21st century. The long-term goal of the Nelms Lab is to bend and break existing constraints on plant breeding, providing more powerful tools to enable the crops of tomorrow. To accomplish this, we combine “basic” research into the cellular and molecular mechanisms of plant reproduction with the translation of this knowledge to better understand plant genetics, breeding, and evolution.
